History

PCA timeline

In 1989, the BWPA merged with the British Chemical Dampcourse Association to form the BWPDA.

It was in January 2003 that two divisions were formed within the BWPDA:

  • The Property Care Association (PCA)
  • The Wood Protection Association (WPA)

The divisions were set up to concentrate on their main areas of expertise, which for the Property Care Association (PCA) is structural waterproofing, damp-proofing, timber preservation and structural maintenance and repairs.

The Structural Waterproofing Group was formed at a later date as part of the PCA.

During 2006, members of BWPDA voted to initiate the separation and launch of the two divisions so that they became separate associations in their own right.
