The PCA Continuous Professional Development Scheme (CPD)

What is CPD?

CPD is a scheme that allows surveyors to improve and broaden and develop their knowledge and skills. Individuals who undertake CPD are making a personal commitment to keep their professional knowledge up to date, improve their capabilities and show that they're actively committed to their own professional development.

How does it work?

In order to retain membership of the scheme, an individual must demonstrate that they are maintaining and developing their skills through constant learning. The amount of study undertaken is measured using a points system. CPD points are gained by attending courses, meetings and presentations and also by reading and personal study.

Individuals participating in the scheme must submit evidence that learning activities have been undertaken annually. The CPD scheme is monitored by the PCA who act to verify the requisite study has been completed over space of the previous year.  Individuals that fail to gain 25 point in a year will not be allowed to register in the following year.

Members of the association, who are participating in the CPD program, have given a commitment to continuous self improvement and study. With this you can be assured that they are amongst the best practitioners in the industry. Surveyors that are part of the Associations CPD scheme are issued with personalized ID cards. This identification card can be used to prove compliance and demonstrate to consumers the individual’s commitment to the delivery of the good service backed by the most up to date knowledge.
