The Property Care Association (PCA) held an open day to launch its new training centre, which is available as a low cost meeting room for Cambridgeshire businesses.
Huntingdon Mayor, Councillor Saeed Akhtar officially opened the Property Care Association’s (PCA) new facility at the trade body’s Huntingdon headquarters.
Other guests included Huntingdonshire District Council Chairman, Councillor John Davies.
The venue will be used to train hundreds of people from property professionals to DIY enthusiasts each year. The PCA, a major industry training body in the UK construction and building preservation sector, had previously hired facilities for its training courses.
Based at the Association’s Lakeview Court offices on the Ermine Business Park, the room is also being made available as a low cost venue for local businesses to hire.
Yasmin Chopin, executive director of the PCA, said: “When we originally opened our office in June 2007, we delivered our training and qualifications programme off-site.
“During the latter part of 2008, it was decided to hold our training and meetings in house, and so we decided to convert additional office space into the new training suite.
“We thought it made sense that, at the times it is not been used by ourselves, the room could be made available for local businesses to hold board meetings, seminars or their own training events.”
The room, which can accommodate up to 40 people, is available for £50 per half day and £100 for a full day, including water cooler, hot drinks, biscuits, data projector and whiteboard.
Speaking at the event, Mayor Saeed Akhtar, said: “It is a fantastic venue, with all the right facilities. It’s great for Huntingdon businesses that they have this available.”
