Remedial Works Project:

Butcher Works, Sheffield. A historic site which was formerly a cutlery and tool manufacturing works containing over a dozen buildings within Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.

The Challange:

The site was being redeveloped for commercial and residential usage, whilst preserving the historic architecture and original features.
An in-depth timber survey showed remedial timber treatments were needed in order to preserve these buildings.

The Solution:

All existing timbers within the buildings were treated and dry rot eradication was performed where needed.

An injection damp proof system was installed in all walls.

All timber wallplates and lintels were drilled and injected.
As a result the historic architecture has been preserved and all original features, including the chimney stack, have been incorporated into the finished build item.
