Structural Waterproofing
 

Our highly popular waterproofing course was modified and updated in 2011 to encompass a wider range of waterproofing systems and reflect the full scope of knowledge needed to understand waterproofing in both new and exitisting structures. Over three days, candidates will consider all aspects of underground waterproofing in alignment with British Standards BS 8102. This intensive course is not simply for those converting existing cellars, but for anyone involved in the design, planning and installation of any below ground spaces.

 

Day 1

(09.30 - 15.30)

Introduction (including soils, permeability, methods of waterproofing, Hydrogen Bonding), BS 8102 and waterproofing

Design, forms of waterproofing, anticipated defects and methods of repair

Day 2

(09.30 - 15.30)

Theory of structures, Cementitious Systems, render technology.

Assessment of ground conditions and structure.

 

Day 3

(09.30 - 15.30)

Choosing a waterproofing system

Cavity Drainage systems, membrane systems, combined systems, psychrometry (humidity condensationm, vapour movement etc), surveying exisiting structures.
