2019 Structural Waterproofing Conference Review

Even though I might be ‘a little‘ bias, what a GREAT conference we recently had. By all account, the Biggest, Most Attended and Best conference we have EVER had the pleasure to arrange!

The 17th July saw our 4th Annual International Structural Waterproofing conference take place at the Slate, Coventry, with almost 190 delegates attending!

Selected a couple of years ago in the belief that it would give us room to grow, the Slate has been the perfect venue for our PCA conferences. However, it seems we have reached a point where we are at capacity and to allow us to continue to grow next year and may need to search for a new venue!

More Non-Members at the Conference!

Not only was this the biggest PCA conference to date, it also saw more non-members in attendance than ever before. And it was not only the numbers that made the event a success, but also cemented the fact that the PCA is at the forefront of the structural waterproofing industry and is continuing to drive standards upwards.

Opportunities to network with the ‘App’ & ‘Passport’

Once again, we had an app to support the conference to help maximise the experience, giving delegates the opportunity to network, to ask the speakers questions and provide access to technical documents.

New for this year’s conference was the ‘exhibitor passport’, which not only encouraged interaction with each of the exhibitor stands but also gave delegates the chance to win a £150 Amazon voucher!

‘Final Thoughts’ a big hit at the conference

The event followed the usual three-session format with this year’s themes being: “Innovation and Inviting Change”, “Putting the Structural into Waterproofing” and, “It’s All in the Detail”. Another new feature was ‘Final Thoughts’, from Rob Withers, presented in a light-hearted way to summarise the day in what turned out to be in the quirky style of Jerry Springer!
