Full contractor membership information

A contractor is a company providing services to the domestic and/or commercial market within sectors represented by the PCA. To apply for 'full contractor membership' of the Property Care Association, companies/organisations must in the first instance comply with the following:

  • Have been trading for a minimum of 2 years (we require 2 years full published trading accounts to process your membership)
  • Have appropriately qualified (CSRT/CSSW/CSJK) surveyors

If an applicant meets only one of the criteria as listed above, they may wish to consider applying for Provisional status.

Some of the benefits of membership

With more and more specifiers insisting a PCA member is used to undertake surveys and works, membership of the Association will drive more business and profitability to your company.  Your membership will also give you access to discounted Insurance Back Guarantees (IBGs), representation from a very active Trade Association, technical help and advice, and a host of other benefits.  Contractor members are also automatically listed under the Government's 'TrustMark' scheme (the only Government endorsed quality scheme for work carried out in or around your home). 

Contractor members are eligible for discounted rates on all PCA training, examinations, conferences and other events.

A bit about the membership process...

Membership is only granted to companies who can demonstrate they meet a number of criteria including technical competence, financial solvency and Health and Safety requirements.  Contractors are also audited by one of our Technical Managers as part of the application process, and every 2 years thereafter to ensure standards are maintained.   Although the process is comprehensive, it ensures customers and clients can be confident they are using the best in the industry when choosing a member.   If you have any questions or need any help or guidance with your application, the PCA team is here to help.
