2022 Property Care Conference - the videos

We are pleased to share that all of the presentations from the '2022 Property Care Conference', will be gradually released over the next couple of months.

We have built a dedicated webpage that currently features the first couple of videos: the conference highlights, keynote introduction and the launch of the Joint Position Statement & document from RICS, Historic England & your Association.

This collaborative document was a pivotal moment and 'huge news' across the sector, and together with the other presentations, will eventually offer our damp and timber members (and other professionals throughout the surveying & construction industry), many hours of high quality CPD learning!

For all who attended and for those who missed the event, we encourage you to watch these videos as they are released over the coming weeks. They will be an invaluable source of learning, insights and knowledge for you and your team(s). To view the first release, simply click on the button below...

Introducing you to the Speakers

The PCA works hard to ensure the conference programmes are relevant whilst being interesting, engaging and broadening your horizons - and this year is no exception!

For the last conference of 2022, we are proud to be welcoming such a high calibre of speakers from a wide range of organisations within the sector, including universities and research groups, and from Government too on the future regulatory landscape.

Flood Action Week

Both our PCA Members and wider surveying/building professionals may be aware that Flood Action Week takes place next week, 7th-13th November. This annual Environment Agency campaign aims to increase awareness of the risk of flooding and what to do to prepare.

In support of this campaign, at the PCA we will be sharing guidance and advice next week across our social media channels. Anyone can have access to this wealth of information and resource via the dedicated pages on our website, which we encourage you to use, share and promote on your channels too.

For now, read more about the campaign by clicking on the button below.

RPSA withdraws Spray Foam Insulation Guidance

In their monthly industry update, Sava reported: "The Residential Property Surveyors Association (RPSA) has written to their members to advise that their guidance for members, on the inspection and reporting of spray foam insulation (December 2021 v 1.0), has been withdrawn with immediate effect. This action has been taken to protect the Association from the threat of legal action by a U.S.-based spray foam manufacturer that could risk the long-term security of the RPSA.

RPSA state: "We are working with stakeholders from throughout the industry to develop inspection protocols that will enable us to carry out an accurate risk assessment of roofs with spray foam installations, and we anticipate this will be completed by around spring 2023. At that time we expect to issue an updated guidance document. Until that new guidance is published, members are advised to deliver their duty of care to their client by considering the nature of any installation, the condition of the roof and an awareness of current lending criteria, to best advise their client."

NB: For PCA members, we have not withdrawn our guidance which can still be accessed on our website and via the button below.
