The latest Hodgson View…
When it comes to retrofit, most homeowners, and many building surveyors, don’t yet have any clue what good or bad retrofit looks like. Who is teaching us how to look after high-efficiency buildings, maintain system critical ventilation systems and spot defects before they turn into problems…?
These questions and much more are all part of the latest Hodgson View, which you can read via the button below.
Launch of 3rd Online Surveyors Training!
We are delighted to announce the launch of our newest online training! The 3rd in our suite of online courses for surveyors will provide candidates with the essential knowledge and skills required when surveying and managing Japanese knotweed.
And just like our other courses, it is broken down into two main modules and delivered through a mixture of live sessions and pre-recorded videos. What’s more, the course can also be used as a foundation study for the Certificated Surveyor in Japanese knotweed (CSJK) examination.

White Horse Surveyors Conference
Last week Technical Manager James Berry spoke at White Horse Surveyors Annual Conference in Swindon covering a wide range of topics in the presentation, including an introduction to timber defects and the latest damp issues facing the industry. Speaker opportunities such as this have been limited for obvious reasons, but it was great to meet up with like-minded property professionals and promote the PCA.
We look forward to hopefully speaking at more events again in the near future…
Updated CLC Face Covering Guidance
The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has updated their statement on the use of face coverings in construction during coronavirus to help provide a consistent approach across the industry. It is based on Government guidance in England and other restrictions and advice may apply in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

HSE’s Safety Climate Tool
A NEW Online H&S tool has recently been launched that may be of interest to you.
HSE’s new Safety Climate Tool helps deliver an objective measure of safety culture in organisations, exploring employees’ attitudes and perceptions in key areas of health and safety, whilst guaranteeing anonymity.
Evidence shows that a strong safety culture is associated with fewer workplace near misses and injuries.
