Who is the safe use of biocides training for?
This course is designed for technicians, tradesperson or anyone that works with and uses biocides on a regular basis.
Being able to prove your credentials in the safe use of biocides enables you to put the public’s mind at ease and will provide you with the skills and confidence to carry out timber treatments to the highest industry standard.
Structure of the safe use of biocides course
This online fully recorded course is broken down into 7 elements:
- Introduction to Biocides
- Biocide Products
- Wood Decay Fungi and Wood boring insects
- Best Practice Application methods
- Environmental Methods
- Risk Assessments
- Summary and Assessment Preparation
We estimate this will take candidates approximately 5 - 6 hours, which can be completed consecutively or at varying times over the 7 day period.
This course will end on an assessment opportunity for the candidate, should they complete and achieve a pass mark they will be added to the 'Professional Users of Biocides Register' and receive certification.
Information on booking
You can access this course through the PCA's online school, this allows flexibility to for candidates to sign up and enroll on to a course at a time and place to suit them.
Once the candidate has clicked the 'book' button, they will be required to create an account if they haven't already. They will then be able to sign up to the course and pay through the online school allowing immediate access to the course materials.
Candidates will have 7 days to complete the course and test, download all materials and their certificate. Candidates will be automatically unenrolled from the course after 7 days, so please ensure you have time to complete this training before booking.
