2023 International Invasive Weed Conference - Video presentations & pictures

After what was another highly successful Invasive Weeds Conference in November 2023, we are pleased to share the first couple of videos from the event.

For those unable to attend the conference (or for those wishing to see the presentations again), over the following weeks and months, we will be gradually releasing more video presentations covering the sessions from the day that included novel approaches & DEFRA's non native species strategy, updated control methods for invasive plants, along with insights regarding guidance, policy and the law. For anyone in the sector, these videos will be valuable hours of insights, knowledge and high quality CPD learning.

GB Invasive Non-Native Species Strategy

In this opening presentation from the conference, Max Wade introduces the new DEFRA GB Invasive Non-Native Species Strategy along with its aims of minimising the risk of additional invasive plants along with the reduction of the negative impacts non-native invasive plants have in the UK. Pelargonic Acid, Glyphosate and Field Horsetail - a good recipe

In this second presentation, William Weld takes us through the use of mixing Pelargonic Acid and Glyphosate as a herbicide mix for the control of Horsetail and potentially, other invasive plants too. The presentation covers when to apply, how much, how many times, and the results that may be expected from a particular application program.

Roots Reset - a biological approach to invasive weed control

Is the solution to help eliminate Japanese knotweed already in our soil? In this presentation, Ard Reijtenbagh of Soilwise demonstrates through case studies within the Netherlands the bio based soil health technology being used to help control knotweed while also helping to stimulate regrowth in areas previously affected by invasive weeds.
