The housing, health and safety rating system - but why is it important?

Investment for the future of the Association

There has been lots going on at the PCA Head Office lately! It has always been the Association's goal to futureproof and upskill emerging talent within the industry, and with the tenants no longer occupying the extra space upstairs has enabled us to invest in and expand the current training facilities, creating:

  • an additional training floor
  • a dedicated area to display and store timber samples
  • a separate room for examiners/assisted support for candidates during exams

We've upgraded the Board Room which is now our new Media Suite, complete with 'On Air' light - a perfect area to host our monthly webinars, record training videos and hold online meetings, all with a professional backdrop! Solar panels have been installed to the roof at Head Office and with rising costs, not only are we generating our own energy, we will save thousands of pounds in the long run. And for any of you onsite with us for training with electric vehicles, you can benefit from this too.

And finally, over at the practical training facility it might look like a building site... but by removing the small training room at the front, will open up the space and transform the building completely, providing a much bigger environment for you to undertake this hands-on practical training.

PCA's letter to ministers sparks interest from The Telegraph

Our recent letter to ministers seems to have sparked some interest and was been picked up by The Daily Telegraph earlier this week! This letter called for those in homes owned by the Government, to have the same rights to action and redress as those living in properties owned by Local Authorities and Housing Associations.

We will continue to use our voice on behalf of our members and hope that many more media outlets get involved in this conversation, to spread awareness of using specialist experts to diagnose and repair faults.
