The PCA’s Flood Protection Group is a collective initiative of industry professionals that has been developed to help give homeowners, construction and property specialists a means of helping deliver better assurance and certainty to those looking to protect homes from the worst effects of flooding. The overall goal being to drive up standards and to create consumer confidence.

How does the Flood Protection Group help?

The Flood Protection Group acts as a reference point for legislators, community groups, professionals, insurers and importantly, homeowners who want to understand what can be done to effectively protect their property from the effects of flooding.

The initiative also helps to try and remove uncertainty by finding flood related solutions to protect homes while guiding and linking consumers to reliable, competent and trustworthy flood protection specialists. The Association will inspect and verify the skills, knowledge, operational capabilities of contractors and ensure products are dependable and reliable.

What does the PCA do to help drive improvements?

As part of our commitment to the flood protection group, the PCA brings the same level of operational and technical rigour for which we are renowned, to this increasingly important specialism. This will not only apply to providers of work aimed at keeping the water out, known as, flood resistance, it will also be applied to those who undertake work that make buildings resilient, by taking steps that will reduce the impact of water that has entered the building.

The end result to again drive up standards & confidence; but to facilitate access to a professional group of experts with specialist focused skills, able to design and deliver comprehensive, holistically designed, flood protection solutions that work
