Dampworks Ltd are specialists in Damp Proofing, Condensation Control and Timber preservation; we are based in the London Borough of Bromley serving predominately the South East and Kent since 2011. We offer services from consultation to cure, identifying and treating defects in properties for homeowners, landlords, housing authorities and building contractors. With a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a qualified Damp and Timber Surveyor to join our dynamic team.

Job Description

The surveyor will be required to visit up to three different clients’ properties daily, returning to our Orpington office to compile reports and quotations. A vehicle (with fuel card), computer, diagnostic tools and mobile phone are supplied. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of building structures and their defects.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting damp and timber surveys on residential and commercial properties
  • Identifying and assessing the extent of damp, timber decay, and related issues
  • Provide advice to our clients onsite or via phone and email
  • Provide detailed reports outlining findings, recommended treatments, works sketch plans and cost estimates
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth process from report through to completion of works.  This will include generation of site sheets for our onsite teams and consultation with works manager when changes to proposed works are required
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies related to damp and timber preservation.

Qualifications

  • CSRT or CSTDB required (CSSW desirable)
  • Extensive experience of diagnosing dampness or timber defects in buildings
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed reports, sketch plans and quotations
  • Proficiency in using relevant surveying equipment and computer software (Microsoft Word, Visio)
  • In-depth knowledge of building construction (structures, building methods and materials)
  • Good knowledge of PCA best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, organised, meticulous
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Salary: 28k - 50k depending on skills and expereince
