The Importance of our WDS Register

Our Waterproofing Design Register is an important facility, one that your Association has maintained to allow for architects and developers to be put in touch with waterproofing designers. In essence, putting architects in touch with PCA members who, by being on the list, are demonstrating that they have been properly vetted and are an approved individual waterproofing design specialist.

The Waterproofing Design Specialist (WDS) Register Documents have been updated and consolidated from four separate documents in to one, making it an easier process all round.

So for those members who are interested in finding out more, give us a call on 01480 400000 or click on the button below…

Review of BS 8102 – Approved by BSI

We are pleased to announce to our members that the proposal for the review of BS 8102:2009 Code of Practice for Protection of Below Ground Structures against Water from the Ground has been approved by BSI.

This review has been one of the key objectives of your Association and the Structural Waterproofing Group (SWG) over this last year and we are very pleased to share the approval from BSI. This document forms the backbone of our training and we continue to push the standards even higher and remain a ‘go to’ for assistance, commentary and suggestions on key legislation.

We will continue to keep members informed and up-to-date with progress. If you have any questions or wish to talk through any of this, please contact James Berry on 01480 400000.

Up Next: Atmospheric Moisture & Compliant Ventilation

Our series of webinars continues with ‘Atmospheric Moisture & Compliant Ventilation’ on Thursday 18th June 2020, from 9-10am. Join PCA’s James Berry as we explore why we need to think about ventilation a little more deeply and why the Government, local authorities and ourselves at the PCA are paying a lot more attention to it recently.

James will guide us through how we begin to limit the accumulation of moisture within our properties that can lead to mould and damp problems? Members can register now via the button below.

A big thank you to all of our PCA members who joined ‘Getting to Grips with Giant Hogweed’ yesterday. Max Wade from AECOM guided listeners through surveying and treatment updates for Giant Hogweed based on the updated PCA guidance, what Giant Hogweed is, how it can be identified and the problems associated with this invasive plant – and we had one of our biggest audiences for an invasive weed webinar to date, with over 150 people joining us!

If you were unable to attend, or if members wish to listen again/share with colleagues, you can view the recording by clicking on the button below.
