Home ventilation - help and information

Welcome to The Property Care Association » Residential Ventilation

Skill: Residential Ventilation

Home Ventilation

Home ventilation is required to tackle damp and mould problems associated with poor indoor air quality in both new builds and older properties.

Given the potential problems that damp and stale atmospheres can inflict on buildings and the wellbeing of occupants, The Property Care Association (PCA) has established the Residential Ventilation Group (RVG) in order to ensure that that those who require professional home ventilation services have a place to find contractors.

Why is there a need for home ventilation

As homes become better insulated and more airtight thanks to innovations like double glazing, there has been a corresponding rise in the amount of moisture and humid air trapped inside our properties. Without either a change of lifestyle habits or introducing adequate ventilation, this can lead to poor air quality, condensation, dampness and mould.
