What is TrustMark?TrustMark logo

TrustMark is the only Government Endorsed Quality Scheme for work carried out in or around your home.  It is a not-for-profit social enterprise established in 2005 in conjunction with Government, industry bodies and consumer protection groups. The goal is to work with Scheme Providers and Registered Businesses to improve consumer protection and standards across all sectors of construction and home improvements.

As one of the founder scheme operators, the Property Care Association works closely with TrustMark to improve work standards. For the PCA to be awarded the TrustMark operators licence however, we are subject to extensive annual audits to ensure the PCA and its members are 'up to standard' and adhearing to 'best practice'.

Key takeaways of the Government TrustMark  Scheme

  • A logo to look out for – a logo you can trust
  • An independent 'not for profit' initiative created jointly by Government, industry and consumer groups
  • Designed to give increased consumer protection to people having work done in and around their homes
  • A sign that registered firms are reputable tradespeople
  • There to support homeowners when they have difficulty with TrustMark accredited firms

PCA's commitment to TrustMark

Along with the continued support of the Government, Trading Standards and other consumer groups, the PCA is committed to the TrustMark scheme to not only help promote and support its PCA members, but also to help the customers/clients of our member companies with support, information, guidance and, when necessary, disputes. Using a TrustMark accreditated firm will help consumers to significantly reduce the risk of hiring a ‘rogue trader’ or ‘cowboy builder’.

As a Scheme Operator, our Contractor members must adhere to TrustMark's Code of Conduct and Customer Charter.
