Fond farewell to PCA's Peter Fitzsimons

After 35 years in property care, PCA's Technical Manager Peter Fitzsimons is retiring! But before his grin gets any wider and he rushes off to the golf course, Peter takes a moment or two to reflect on his career in the property care industry.

BRE report: The cost of poor housing in England

Following the release of BRE's revised briefing paper a couple of weeks ago, PCA's Head of Technical James Berry takes a look at the updated report and the cost of poor housing in England in his latest blog.

CITB's short course grant funding to double!

PCA Members may have seen CITB's recent announcement regarding the doubling of grants for short courses.

For those who may have missed it, this increase is to support with rising costs of training and from 1st April, you can receive £60, £140 or £240 for short course achievements.

Whilst this is welcomed, we are mindful this has been a long time coming and very much hope that more improvements will follow...

New GB Non-Native Species Strategic Plan published

Our invasive weed members may have seen the launch of the revised GB non-native species Strategic Plan (adopted/created by UK, Scotland & Welsh Government departments).

The PCA contributed on your behalf to the consultation back in 2019 and happily, most points we raised were adopted - mainly that professional INNS management companies could and should be part of the nationwide effort to limit the impact of invasive species.
