Invasive Weed Control Group Meeting

Huge thanks to everyone who attended the Invasive Weed Control Group Meeting at the PCA Head Office earlier this week – it was great to see so many of you! There was lots of dynamic discussion and ideas for the future of the sector, which are invaluable at events like this.

Latest News from the International Ethics Standards

PCA’s James Berry was part of the International Ethics Standards Coalition (IES) conference call last week, a scheme to promote ethical practice in the property ad construction industry of which the PCA is a member.

This coalition gives the PCA and its members association with over 100 other worldwide members, all with a common interest in raising ethical standards in the construction arena. We know members are already adhering to these standards and your Association is committed to continually improving ethics and this will undoubtedly provide a stronger route for procurement for you all. To apply, members can click on the button below:

Training – Get Ready for Autumn

Fire Warden Training

This ONE-TIME-ONLY offer is your opportunity to attend a half-day basic fire warden course. Candidates will learn:

  • the principles of fire fighting equipment
  • evacuation procedures
  • fire warden duties
  • practical use of fire extinguishers using fire simulator
  • human behaviour

This course will ensure that your duties under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 will be satisfied.

Understanding Construction Principles

Deepen understanding and background knowledge of the fundamentals of the different types of building construction, and how the construction type will affect how a building performs. Beneficial for foundation level training/as a refresher/to fill any gaps in existing knowledge, to help when working with buildings to assess and recommend appropriate actions for property care.

Ground Gas – Installation & Verification

A highly practical one day workshop which takes a look at best practice and the latest CIRIA C735 guidance on the verification of gas protection measures.
